What is love

(My heart is filled with love and wonder lately… can't help it.)

  • Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.

  • Love is when he gave you a goodbye kiss and called you back for more.

  • When you tell someone something bad about yourself and you're scared they won't love you anymore. But then you get surprised because not only do they still love you, they love you even more.

  • When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.

Someone who makes you smile

"Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile
because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright."
Hope you find the one that makes you smile.

How to work better

(Found outside the Tate Modern Museum in downtown London)

1. Do one thing at a time
2. Distinguish sense from nonsense
3. Know the problem
4. Learn to listen
5. Learn to ask questions
6. Accept change as inevitable
7. Admit mistakes
8. Say it simple
9. Be calm
10. Smile

Do you know what happens during the moment love is born?

It is difficult to know at what moment it begins; it is less difficult to know it has begun.

10 things you might not know about me

(inspired by keyser's blog)

  1. Sometimes we stay overnight at work and I leave at about 10 pm. I go home, I sleep a bit and go back at about 8 am.
  2. I was born in Shanghai but I'm not Shanghainese. The fact is most Shanghainese were not born there. They are migrants.
  3. I tried different kinds of insect in Thailand. After all, insects are eaten in many cultures. It's only Westerners who are squeamish about eating them. A recent article in the magazine discusses insects as food, pointing out that honey is nothing more than 'bee vomit'.
  4. I had been sexually harassed by my boss at the workplace in the past. He kept hitting on me at that time. I took immediate action to stop it.
  5. I really like the smell of thinner, believe it or not.
  6. What do you usually have for breakfast? I always have fried rice/noodle and soup, and sometimes I have two big breakfasts the same morning.
  7. I had my first two exhibitions of painting at Art Centre many years ago.
  8. Should I feel honored if you fight for me? There were two guys fought so hard inside the classmate to win my heart over (or at least a date). They were badly injured after the fight. Sometimes, guys are just stupid.
  9. I appreciate small things and gestures. I don't need nor want fancy stuff, just the simple pleasure of stir-fried eggs and some potato chips. Also I appreciate if someone is attentive and shows that they pay attention - which can be done by small gestures. I appreciate them.
  10. I hate people interrupt me before I finish speaking. It is a question of respect. Do not let me talk alone, if you do I will leave.

So, finally, there we go - hope there are at least some of those you don't already know.

When looking at original paintings

When looking at original paintings, the various traits of paint allow one to sense the choices the artist made as they applied the paint.

For the viewer, the paint is still, but for the artist, the paint is a liquid or semi-liquid and must be moved 'onto' the painting surface.

New intruder

It is always excited and frustrated to having someone new entering my life. Everything new and fresh is attractive and fascinating, but what is the real soul behind this nice intruder? I never know whether he is just a ripple who might just touch the edge of my heart and then leave; or he is gonna stay there until confirmed with my recognition.

Ask myself

Ask myself: am I someone who makes others glad they are who they are? If my answer is yes, then I will find love. The other way round: when someone makes me feel good about being who I am, that is the person I want to be with more and more.
